Note: Watch this short tutorial screencast or follow the quick steps below, that complement this video.
1. Add a Slide With an Identical Layout
Let’s say you’ve finished working on a slide. Next, you want to add another just like it. In the upper left corner, simply click on the Plus (+) icon. A new slide will instantly appear.
2. Add a Slide With a New Layout
If you want to add a slide with a new layout and content placeholders, click on the drop-down arrow just to the right of the Plus (+) icon. A menu will appear with a series of thumbnails.
Each features a unique custom slide layout. To choose a new layout, simply click on a thumbnail and the new slide will appear.
3. Delete a Slide
To delete a slide, simply right-click on the slide thumbnail in the sidebar on the left side.
Then click, on Delete and the slide will disappear.
As you can see, adding and deleting slides in Google Slides is one of the easiest things you can do to customize your presentation. Of course, once you’ve added a slide with a new layout, you can always click and drag content placeholders like images and text boxes around the slide to make a layout truly your own. In general, be careful about adding too many slides—any audience tends to drift if a presentation goes on too long. And remember that any change can be reversed by using the Undo command. Use the techniques you learned in this tutorial to make your own custom Google Slides presentations today.
