3. Upload the Image to Google Slides



After you’ve chosen your Google Slides template, you must upload your image before learning to use the Google Slides opacity feature to create a faded background image.
Start by opening your template. Select a slide to add the image to. Remove any text or other elements from the slide. Then, click on Insert from the menu above the ribbon. Choose the correct option from the menu based on where your image file is located.
4. Format the Image

6. Add Text



After changing the Google Slides image transparency, you’ll need to add text to the slide. To do that, click on the Text Box button in the ribbon.
Once you click on the button, your cursor turns into a drawing tool. Use it to draw a text box. Then type in your text. The result will look like this:

1. Create a Shape



To create a shape, click on the Shape button in the ribbon. Next, choose the Shapes option. From the menu that appears, select the shape that you want.
2. Fill the Shape



Next, use your mouse to draw the shape. You can use the blue handles to adjust the size of the shape. Use the Fill Color button in the ribbon to change the color of your shape.
3. Set the Transparency



The last step is to use the Google Slide opacity feature. Click on the Fill Color button in the ribbon again.



Next, Click on the Add a Custom Color button in the Custom section. The second sliding bar sets the opacity. Slide that until you get the opacity you want. Once you're done, click OK to save. The finished object will look similar to this:
