If you’ve been blogging for awhile, you probably know the value of sharing interesting content with your readers. But sometimes, writing a detailed post is not enough, not to mention creating original, quality content takes time.
If you’re not comfortable experimenting with video or audio posts, what can you do to make your content more engaging? The answer is to turn to SlideShare.
Embedding SlideShare presentations in your WordPress posts opens up a whole new world of possibilities for your blog. Not only can you find interesting information that expands on your topic, but you can also use them to back up your article.
Another benefit of embedding SlideShare presentations is driving traffic back to your blog. If you repurpose your article and turn it into a SlideShare presentation, you can include a link back to your blog so anyone who views the presentation can come back and read your post for more information.
In today's tutorial, we’ll walk you through the process of embedding a sample SlideShare slideshow on your website. This presentation sample is from one of our earlier tutorials on creating SlideShare presentations with PowerPoint.
Note: This tutorial uses the Simplicity PowerPoint Template. You can get great PPT presentation templates on GraphicRiver or discover more in our Ultimate Guide to the Best Microsoft PowerPoint Templates.

Get Started By Uploading Your Presentation
To get started, visit SlideShare and click the Login button to log into SlideShare. Then, click the orange Upload button and select the presentation file you want to upload.
While you wait for the presentation to upload, you can customize how your slideshow will appear once it’s published.
Customizing Your Presentation on SlideShare
As you can see from the screenshot below, you can customize the title and the description, add tags, and set your SlideShare to be public or private.
Enter the title of your presentation and briefly describe what the presentation is about. As you add more information, you’ll notice the Discoverability score go up which makes it easier for other users to find your presentation online.
When you have filled out the description, add a few relevant tags and choose the category that best matches your SlideShare presentation. Make sure your presentation is set to Public, otherwise, nobody will be able to see it once you embed your slideshow in your WordPress post on your website.
After you have entered all the information and your presentation is uploaded, click Publish.
Grab The SlideShare Presentation Embed Code
Once your presentation is published online, it’s time to get the embed code so you can embed it into your WordPress post or website. The easiest way to get the code is to view your presentation and then click the Share button below.
SlideShare gives you two options for inserting the presentation into your post: the embed code and a WordPress shortcode. With the embed code, you can embed your presentation into any web page on any platform or static HTML site as well.
If you grab the embed code, you’ll be able to select from a few different sizes. Optionally, if the offered sizes are too narrow or too wide for the width of your blog post, look for the code containing words “width=”595” (which is the largest available size by SlideShare) and modify it to suit the width of your content.
Keep in mind that unless you have an administrator, WordPress will strip out the embed code from your site, in which case you’ll want to copy the shortcode.
Copy the appropriate code and then go to your WordPress and paste the code into your post, using the Text editor. Publish your post and you’re done. You can see how the SlideShare will look on your site using the default 2017 theme from the screenshot below:
