How to Delete a Text Box in Google Slides Quickly

1. Add a Text Box to Google Slides

Of course, before you can delete a text box, you must have one on your slide. Text boxes are great for adding text in areas not covered by your chosen slide layout. Plus they’re super easy to add and manipulate. To add a text box, just go up to the Insert tab and click Text box.

Start by selecting a text box on your Google Slides presentation.

Once the text box appears on your screen, just start typing in your text. If you want to relocate the text box, you can click and drag to reposition the box around the slide. And, just like an image, you can pull on the corners to expand, resize, and scale the text box. This is ideal if you’re trying to fit a block of text into a small space on the slide.

2. Delete a Text Box from Google Slides

Simply press the delete key on your keyboard to remove a text box.

So, say you’ve added a text box full of content. Then you realize you no longer need to include it in the presentation. Fortunately, deleting a text box in Google Slides is incredibly easy. Simply click to select the box and press Delete on your keyboard. It'll vanish instantly. Then the space on your slide will be available for new creative uses.

3. Undo Deleting a Text Box in Google Slides

Choose Edit > Undo to undo the text box 

Suppose you’ve deleted a text box, but suddenly realize you need it back. Have no fear—undoing text box deletion is a super-easy step in Google Slides. If you need to undo deletion, simply go up to the Edit tab on the Google Slides ribbon and then click Undo. Your departed text box will reappear.

4. Finishing Up!

Text boxes are the best way to customize text placement in your Google Slides presentation. They’re both easy to add and easy to delete. This ease makes them the perfect addition to your creative presentation toolbox - text comes and goes as you please, with only a few seconds’ work.
